London, September 10, 2024 – Tuum, a next-generation core banking platform provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Frame as its new Head of Compliance and Risk.
With over 20 years of experience leading compliance, risk, and security functions across financial institutions, fintechs, and large merchants, Stephen brings a wealth of expertise to Tuum as it continues to expand and strengthen its operations in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Stephen Frame’s extensive experience includes leadership roles such as Managing Director of a Berlin-based payments firm regulated by BaFin and Deutsche Bundesbank, as well as Chief Compliance Officer for a UK-regulated EMI under the FCA. He has been pivotal in building out comprehensive risk and compliance frameworks from the ground up, ensuring scalability and regulatory approval. His expertise spans delivering security frameworks for ISO27001 and PCI DSS compliance, and managing relationships with tier-1 banks and financial institutions.
Stephen comments, “In my new role at Tuum, my focus will be on enhancing the strong compliance and risk culture already established within the business, ensuring these functions remain aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Drawing on my extensive experience, I’m confident in my ability to understand and address the complex compliance and risk challenges faced not only by Tuum but also by our clients. By building on the solid foundation of our control frameworks and anticipating future regulatory demands, we will position Tuum as a leader in compliance, providing our clients with solutions that meet both current and future regulatory challenges. I look forward to working with the talented team at Tuum to support our growth and ensure our practices remain forward-looking and resilient.”
Stephen’s appointment comes at a time when regulatory demands on fintechs, including Data Privacy regulations, PSD2 and PSD3, cyber security standards like NIS2 and DORA, and emerging ESG regulations, continue to evolve. Stephen’s deep understanding of these challenges and his proactive approach to compliance by design will help Tuum and its clients navigate this dynamic landscape successfully.
“Stephen’s appointment marks a significant step forward for Tuum’s compliance and risk capabilities,” said Myles Bertrand, CEO of Tuum. “His experience in implementing scalable, innovative compliance solutions will ensure that Tuum remains resilient and adaptable, providing the highest level of trust and value to our clients. We are thrilled to have him onboard.”
